The Arlington Heights Memorial Day Parade is one of the village's longest-running traditions — over a century of honoring those who gave their lives in service. The parade steps off at 9:30 a.m. from the intersection of Dunton Avenue and Sigwalt Street, heading west on Sigwalt, north on Dunton, west on Euclid, and south on Chestnut to Memorial Park, where the ceremony begins at approximately 11 a.m.

The parade features local veterans' organizations, high school marching bands from Township High School District 214, scouting groups, first responders, and community organizations. It's a big turnout — families line the sidewalks along the route, and the downtown restaurants usually see a rush once the parade wraps up. The ceremony at Memorial Park includes speakers, a wreath-laying, tributes, and taps at the eternal flame memorial.

This is a free, public event organized by the Veterans Memorial Committee of Arlington Heights with support from veteran, civic, and governmental organizations. Arrive early for a good spot along the parade route — Dunton Avenue tends to draw the biggest crowds. Street parking fills up fast, but free parking is available on Memorial Day at various village lots. The Metra station lot and side streets a few blocks out are also good options.
