Arlington Alfresco 2026

Arlington Alfresco is the annual kickoff to outdoor dining season in Downtown Arlington Heights. Starting May 1 and running through September 28, roughly 20 participating restaurants open up their patios, set out sidewalk tables, and transform the downtown streetscape into an open-air dining destination. First introduced in 2020 to expand outdoor seating capacity, the program has grown into one of the signature warm-weather draws in the northwest suburbs.

The alfresco zone covers the core downtown blocks along Vail Avenue, Campbell Street, and the surrounding side streets, with portions partially closed to vehicle traffic to create a more pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. Restaurants like Mago Grill, Cortland's Garage, and others along the strip take advantage of the extra space, and the foot traffic picks up noticeably once the tables go out. Thursday concert nights at Harmony Park pair especially well with a meal outside.

No tickets or registration — just show up and grab a table at whatever catches your eye. The Village offers 10 parking lots, including several parking garages, all within a few minutes' walk. Whether you're meeting friends for a weeknight dinner or making a full evening out of it with a show at Metropolis, the alfresco season is when downtown feels most alive.
